Before i post songs to my Hollywood/Bollywood Blog i must research, so here is an interesting read... this song brings a smile to my face for silly reasons... better than hearing or watching Vidyas Oh la la! I find it so cheap... anyway... now for some facts...

This song was initially leaked on the Internet, and the makers, having noticed its popularity, decided to go for an official release.

The lyrics portray the feelings of an average Indian boy, who has failed in love, or who has some problems with his girl.

The song crossed a crore (10 million) hits on YouTube on 30 November, 2011.

The song is suitable only for bathroom singers. Its simplistic and rustic beats make it more catchy to the commoner.

Javed Akhtar slams Kolaveri Di!

While the entire nation, including superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth, is hooked to Dhanush's Kolaveri Di, lyricist Javed Akhtar has slammed the song.

He tweeted: "KOLAVARI-D". Every one is praising the robes but the emporer is naked. Tune ordinary, singing substandard. words an insult to sensibility.

So what if the song has a few critics, it's being praised by millions. The song has got over 10 million hits on YouTube.

It has been more than 3 years since i have visited the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, the holy pilgrim place of not only the Muslims but all religions and even foreigners, but bollywood celebrity Shilpa Shetty had visited yesterday. Shes the co-owner of Indian Premier League (IPL) team Rajasthan Royals, and may have gone to offer prayers for her teams victory. You think if she went there without wearing a burqua (muslim dress), she would come out safe and sound other being trampled by the lunatic paparazzi(media) and crowd!!? no! so she wore one, gifted by cricketer Yusuf Pathan but was yet recognized as the burqua may not have been her fit.

A few days ago i heard the most talked and admired couple Aishwariya and Abhishek get into a loud argument, screaming at the top of their voices at an Awards show.. As i always said i admire Aish's looks but i am not convinced by her over-artificial and over-expressive ways. Her hubby seems to dislike that too! yes that's true, at an awards show when Aish was behaving too stupid and trying to grab attention on the stage along with kunal kumar, Abhi called her a side and tried to explain his mind. Aish reacted negatively and began blasting her hubby who got more and more annoyed, he had to ask his personal security to escort Ash to their hotel room!

Now despite being known as a true wedded bollywood couple who walk hand in hand wherever they go, but their rating as one of the best couples has fallen since the time of Aish's unacceptable behaviour.. infact, i now have much more regards for Abhishek and rate than 7/10. Yet hope is all with the couple and we get to hear good news soon :)

Hey people! Queen of drama Rakhi Sawant wins yeh hai jalwa! A dance show on television and it's months since the show went on air. Her audience had to put up with loads of tantrums and artificial drama from Rakhi, oh but all that paid of eventually.. I remember how she cried and left the stage of another dance show where she was the runner up, even before the winner was handed over their award and blamed the whole TV channel and others for cheating her, even paying no head to Salman Khans request. I thought if she didn't win this time, she would've gone on a gunning spree! hehehe.. she dances well and that was proved at last.

Well this time, she wasn't dancing with her boyfriend Abhishek, but instead a group of kids which rakhi owes accredit to. A lotta hard work was put into all their performances, i used to watch that.. and the chiller party(as they group was named) bagged a huge amount as prize money, which is a whooping 25 lakh!

The film Jodha Akbar, which created quite a controversy regarding the female lead is now making millions.. The fact that the movie portrayed Jodhabai as married to Akbar had hurt the sentiments of the rajput community, the reason being historical facts.They claimed that Jodhabai was not the Mughal emperor Akbar's wife as depicted in the movie.. neither was she the daughter of Raja Bharmal of Amber near Jaipur as shown in the movie and that she was the wife of Akbar’s son Salim!! Akbar's daughter-in-law, his wife? you better watch the movie if this interests you.. The film stars hithrik roshan and aishwarya rai.. and was released on the 15th of this month.

Whatever, despite being surrounded with controversies, the film crosses Rs 74 crores (approx 19 million USD) in just 10 days worldwide... a record for a Indian film!!

Scientists studying the genetics of eye colour at the University of Copenhagen found that more than 99.5 per cent of blue-eyed people, who volunteered to have their DNA analysed, have the same tiny mutation in the gene that determines the colour of the iris.

Professor Hans Eiberg of the university said he had analysed the DNA of about 800 persons with blue eyes, ranging from fair-skinned, blond-haired Scandinavians to dark-skinned, blue-eyed people living in Turkey and Jordan.

“All of them, apart from possibly one exception, had exactly the same DNA sequence in the region of the OCA2 gene. This to me indicates very strongly that there must have been a single, common ancestor of all these people,” he said.

The study reported in the journal Human Genetics indicates that the mutation originated in just one person who became the ancestor of all subsequent people in the world with blue eyes.

“From this we can conclude that all blue-eyed individuals are linked to the same ancestor. They have all inherited the same switch at exactly the same spot in their DNA,” professor Eiberg was quoted as saying by The Independent daily of Britain today

After 'Celebrity Big Brother', Shilpa Shetty caught the imagination of the British public once again this week, when she stuck a chord with them through the grand finale of her musical 'Miss Bollywood' in London.

Having toured a total of 16 European cities across Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and UK in the last two-and-a-half months, Shilpa returned to London to perform the final act at the Royal Albert Hall.

The dusky beauty mesmerized the English audience with a scintillating performance, while the audiences cheered her repeatedly. "The success of the grand finale at the hallowed Royal Albert Hall is indeed an emotional and historic moment for Shilpa," said her publicist Dale Bhagwagar.

The musical is set against the backdrop of London as the city prepares for the 2012 Olympics. It follows the story of 'Maya' (performed by Shilpa Shetty), a classically trained dancer and choreographer, who arrives from India to set up a dance academy in a soon-to-be-demolished East London building. Maya soon finds herself thrust into the limelight, where she must either sink or swim. Her trials and tribulations include the unwanted attentions of a famous but predatory choreographer.

'Miss Bollywood' combines traditional Indian music with riveting dance sequences that could be entered in the Olympics themselves. It showcases an amalgamation of dance forms taken from the east and west of India, with Shilpa re-capturing on stage some of Bollywood's greatest hits over the past 40 years.

Shahid Kapur admits that seeing Kareena with someone else hurts.

Shahid revealed this in an interiew carried with The Times of India - "It will be dishonest to say that this doesn’t affect me.". He finally broke is silence and talked about his break up with Kareena Kapoor.

Their movie Jab We Met is already into post production and scheduled to release this Friday.

For some time now Kareena Kapoor has been seen in public quite a lot with actor Saif Ali Khan. The media was all over discussing this new twist in Kareena's life.

All rumorswere laid to rest when Saif accepted before the camera last week that he and Kareen were dating.

personally i feel shahid is fine without kareena who was always with her nose up in the air.. it was sad that they've split now but shahid should find a better partner like amrita roa coz they will really look smashing as a couple, with kareena he looked very much more younger than her!! being so used to kareena,shahid i guess will take time for audience to digest the fact that shes with saif now... what do u people think?

I've just watched the grand finale of the Indian idol 3 with my whole family and as i never thought who would win, did actually turn out the as the winner and thats prashant tamang from Darjeeling, he was a constable in the Calcutta police and thats the city from where i belong! so am happy... but i thought amit paul his rival and best friend would win.

nice that both are the best of friends and both are winners in their own way.you could see how happy pashant was when he was announced as the winner by john, he hugged amit for a few mins and then thanked his mother,Calcutta police and the public "I thank my mother, public and Bengal police for granting me the permission for participating in the show" he said.he then took amit along with him as he walked up to the front of the stage as they both held the winning prize.hes got a contract for Rs 1 crore now... and a car.so lets all wish him the best for his journey ahead.

Sporting a several-day-old stubble and his hair close cropped, Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt walked into his Pali Hill home here Thursday to an emotional welcome from his family and friends, after spending 23 nights in Mumbai and Pune prisons.

The actor, who stepped out of Pune's Yerawada Jail at 7.15 a.m. and took a chartered flight to Mumbai soon after, took most of his fans off guard with his early homecoming.

A large number of fans had been gathering outside his home every day ever since the Supreme Court granted him interim bail Monday. Only a few were present Thursday.

Wearing a white striped shirt and blue jeans, Dutt, 48, drove into his home in a black sedan at around 8.30 a.m. - just over an hour after gaining freedom.

As the car entered the sprawling residence in the Imperial Heights building in the upmarket Pali Hill neighbourhood, family members and friends from the film fraternity rushed out to welcome him home.

After a traditional homecoming puja and breaking of a coconut, Dutt first kissed nephew Siddharth, sister and Congress MP Priya's son, and then hugged both sisters Priya and Namrata.

Brother-in-law Kumar Gaurav had flown with him from Pune where too Dutt's fans failed to see their hero walk of the prison because jail authorities decided to release him early in the morning so as to avoid huge crowds.

There, after stepping outside Yerawada Jail, a beaming Dutt shook hands with policemen and, overcome with emotion, even hugged a constable.

He then waved to the small media contingent camping outside the prison gates since overnight before speeding off in a car to the airport.

Producer and close family friend Bunty Wallia told IANS from Pali Hill: "He needs to spend time with his family and rest. He may speak to the media who have extended tremendous support throughout his ordeal."

Dutt's senior counsel Satish Mane Shinde declined to comment on the future legal steps the actor is contemplating. "Whether Sanju will start working on his unfinished projects will be decided later.

"For now, the most important thing for him is to spend time with his family, which he is doing now."

Clearly eager to get into his home, the actor told journalists outside his residence that he would speak to them after making a few telephone calls and after catching up with family and friends.

Dutt was sent to jail July 31 after the special TADA (Terrorist and Disruptive Activities) court sentenced him to six years rigorous imprisonment for illegal possession of arms given to him by the accused in the 1993 Mumbai bombings. He was moved to Yerawada Jail in Pune Aug 2.

In Pune, the actor had taken up carpentry as jail labour and even earned a few hundred rupees. He was paid about Rs.20 a day.

Dutt's release may, however, be shortlived because once the TADA court hands over the copy of the judgment of his conviction passed Nov 28, 2006 under the Arms Act, he will have to go back to jail.

But that has not dampened the sprits of his die-hard fans.

"Today's homecoming is a Rakhsha Bandhan (a celebration of brother-sister relationship) gift for his sisters. We are really happy for the family," said Sampat Bhosle, a fan from Nagpur outside the Dutt residence.

"Whatever little time he has he will want to spend every minute with his family and friends, and I am very happy for our Munnabhai. I have faith in god that he will get through the next (legal) fight," Bhosle told IANS.

Dutt's interim bail will also bring a relief, temporary though, to the producers he had been working for before being jailed.

He has three films on the floors and is expected to be back on the sets soon.

Dutt had started "Dhamaal" a month before the verdict and had been shooting double shifts to complete the film before going to prison.

Other unfinished projects include Sanjay Gadhvi's "Kidnap", which has Dutt in the main lead. Shooting for Sanjay Gupta's "Alibaug", in which Dutt is also co-producer, had to be cancelled after he went to jail.

i recently read somewhere that she, trishala, daughter of sanjay had no plans to make bollywood films her career but that was two years ago.. (sigh) now shes more matured and wants to join salman! read on for the comp part..

Sanjay Dutt’s sentence and incarceration leaves Bollywood in a lot of uncertainty, but there is another Dutt who wants to carry on the legacy started by Nargis and Sunil Dutt and carried on by the lovable Munnabhai. It is Sanjay’s 19-year-old daughter Trishala, born and raised in New York, studying Criminal Psychology, but hopeful of becoming an actress soon.

Trishala spoke to DT exclusively on her Bollywood plans. "I want to move to Mumbai once I complete my degree. And I want to act in films because I want to be closer to dad now," said Trishala.

She has, she revealed, been getting film offers for some time but kept them on hold because getting her degree mattered more to her and her father. "I made the choice. I wanted to get a degree just in case I need something to fall back on. Dad wants me to complete my studies before I choose my career. He is totally against my joining Bollywood! But I know he will eventually give in. His exterior is tough but he is gooey soft when it comes to me," said Trishala.

Sanjay Dutt is reluctant to let her join Bollywood, Trishala said, because he believes the film industry has changed. "He used to show interest when I was young. But now he wants me to stay out of films. He feels girls are there in Bollywood mainly to adorn films. And he does not want me doing this."

She has already started preparing for Bollywood. The plump, baby-faced Trishala of yesterday is now a svelte and stunning woman determined to conquer the glamour world. She is already a successful model in NY and has endorsed a number of products including a popular speciality clothing line.

Who would she like to act with if she joins films? "Salman Khan, he’s my father’s friend," she replied unhesitatingly. "I am in love with him. I told Salman this when I was younger. And he had laughed and said, ‘Sure, why not?’"

Actress Sushmita Sen is currently neck deep in the pre-production work for her ambitious English film "Jhansi Ki Rani", which she says is a homage to a woman she admires tremendously.

"By producing 'Jhansi Ki Rani' and casting myself in a role that I've cherished for ever, I'll be paying homage to a woman I admire tremendously," Sushmita told IANS.

"I feel Rani of Jhansi isn't just a source of inspiration for me but also very relevant to our times. When I went through her story and read about her interaction with friends, family and enemies I realised sometimes you need to look at the past to know what mistakes you don't make in the future."

Making a period film is not an easy job as it involves a lot of risks but the actress is unperturbed.

She said: "The truth is whenever you create something, there's bound to be risks, financial and creative, involved. When have I ever been afraid of taking risk?"

However, she is ensuring that all the homework is done carefully.

"Once we go into production I don't want to be caught in any kind of uncertainty. Neither do I want to be an interfering producer. I want to put everything in place as a producer so that once we start shooting I'll focus only on the acting," said the actress who is yet to finalise the director.

Asked about Ketan Mehta's film on the same subject with Aishwarya Rai in the lead role, she said: "I'm very happy for both of them."

Excerpts:

Q: You seem to be totally consumed by the idea of making "Jhansi Ki Rani".

A: You bet! My interest isn't just professional but also personal. By producing "Jhansi Ki Rani" and casting myself in a role that I've cherished for ever, I'll be paying homage to a woman I admire tremendously.

Q: And how is your project progressing so far?

A: So far so good. I think we're on the right track. For me "Jhansi Ki Rani" is the only raison d'etre at the moment. But then the world doesn't come to a standstill for the sake of one's passion. I will continue to fulfil my other obligations as an actor.

Q: You are the sole producer of "Jhansi Ki Rani"?

A: Yes absolutely. My company Tantra is the producer. And there's no fear of falling from my high horse because Rani of Jhansi rode across the horizon fearlessly. If I'm making a film on the life of a fearless woman I'd better be fearless. This woman inspires me like none other.

The truth is whenever you create something, there's bound to be risks, financial and creative, involved. When have I ever been afraid of taking risk?

Q: Any fear of failing with a female-centric film?

A: None whatsoever. Please remember I started with a woman-centric film ("Dastak"). Sure, my recent films "Chingaari" and "Zindaggi Rocks" revolved around me and they didn't work at the box office, whereas a film like "Main Hoon Na" where I had, at the most, an extended cameo, brought me tremendous appreciation.

But do I stop going by my instincts because of commercial failure? Or do I try to see where I've gone wrong, correct myself and move ahead on the path I've chosen? That doesn't really need an answer, does it?

"Jhansi Ki Rani" is not the kind of film that you shoot over two months, release and forget about it. It's a film about history that hopefully will have a history beyond the average lifespan of a film.

Q: And about the director?

A: Frankly, I'm still not decided on that. We've a few names short-listed. They're all filmmakers with a track record for an epic vision.

Q: So what steps are you taking to ensure that "Jhansi Ki Rani" doesn't go wrong?

A: I'm making sure we're doing our homework very carefully. Once we go into production I don't want to be caught in any kind of uncertainty. Neither do I want to be an interfering producer. I want to put everything in place as a producer so that once we start shooting I'll focus only on the acting.

Q: How long have you been prepping for "Jhansi..."?

A: A year-and-a-half. It's my dream project. And life for me has always been about living out my dreams. I feel Rani of Jhansi isn't just a source of inspiration for me but also very relevant to our times. When I went through her story and read about her interaction with friends, family and enemies I realised sometimes you need to look at the past to know what mistakes you don't make in the future.

Q: What would be the film's language?

A: It'd predominantly be in English. Since a majority of the characters would be British, English does seem the logical language. My "Jhansi Ki Rani" would be a totally global film. Anybody who wants to get inspired will want to see it.

Q: Finally, Ketan Mehta is also a planning a biopic of "Jhansi Ki Rani" with Aishwarya Rai.

A: I'm very happy for both of them.

heres rakhi sawant the lady who impressed the hearts of all the indians watching big boss, a reality show similiar to americas big brother... before watching the show i was under the impression that rakhi was so annoying with her cheap behaviour and big mouth... but the show took us into the inncocence of the lady who never missed a chance to capture our hearts with that center of attraction but humorous side of her.she kept me at least, laughing all the way throughout that one whole hour of big boss daily.i wouldnt miss a single episode!! with all my chores being left aside and nothing doing to stop me from watching her... she made her way into our hearts.am not the only one, isnt it?

Karan: How do you feel being on the show?

Rakhi: Mujhe bahut accha lag raha hai. Mein bahut accha feel kar rahi hu, Manish ki sari pehen kar!

Karan: Manish Malhotra ka sari pehena hai aapne?

Rakhi: Mujhe bahut accha lag raha hai with the earrings, with the good bracelet and good purse! (Laughs)

Karan: To poore set ho?

Rakhi: Haa! Mujhe aisa lag raha hai mein Sushmita Sen, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta, Kajol lag rahi hoon philhaal! Mujhe aisa feel ho raha hai andar se!

Karan: Aapka mention bahut baar ho chukka hain, is season mein!

Rakhi: Haan meine dekha hai! Kiseene bahut accha response diya, kisine kuch aur kaha. Chalte rehta hai! No problem.

Karan: Jab aap bure response sunti hai, aapko bura lagta hai?

Rakhi: Nahi mujhe bura nahi lagta! Dekhiye, zindagi hain... kuch log accha samajhte hai, kuch log bura samajhte hai, sabki apni marzi. Theek hai. Unhe samajhna chahiye ke kisike baarein mein bolne ke pehle dus baar sochna chahiye ki us ladki ne kitna struggle kiya hai, kitna kya kiya hai. Meri jagah pe koi rehkar dekhe ki meine kitna struggle kiya hai.

Karan: Bachpan se aap sensational ho?

Rakhi: Haan! Matlab straightforward hoon! Jo bhi hain clear baat karti hoon, mere dil mein jo hain mein keh deti hoon. Isiliye mere daddy aur mummy ko mein pasand nahi hoon.

Karan: Yeh jo 'diplomatic' shabd hai that you don't understand at all!

Rakhi: Haan, pehle mujhe samajh mein nahi aata tha ki yeh shabd kya hain. Meine hamesha aise hi zindagi guzaari hai. Jaise school mein, college mein bhi first year hi kiya hain meine. Zyaada padi-likhi nahi hoon mein because middle-class families mein kuch problems hote hain Karan! Zindagi mein bahut sari cheezein hai jo face karni padti hai.

One of Bipasha Basu's dreams came true at Lisbon, Portugal when she got to meet her favourite footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and the actress made the most of it. She says she danced and partied with the football star who is a big fan of Bollywood. Bipasha hosted the 'Seven Wonders of the World' ceremony at the Benfica Stadium in Lisbon on July seven. Bipasha said, "For two months I had been raving to my boyfriend John that I would meet Cristiano at IIFA awards. They had promised to make him walk with me. I was crushed when it did not happen. Who was to know that I would party with him just weeks after IIFA." She added, "I was like a fan to begin with. But after we bonded we just became two individuals bonding as buddies over an important international event. We are pals now. If I ever have to see a football game, all I've to do is ask Cristiano."

Bipasha became a football fan ever since she met John. She remarked, "I have been Cristiano's fan for five years. I haven't yet told John the details of my partying with Cristiano. I will as soon as he returns from his outdoors." However, intimate pictures of Cristiano and Bipasha have been splashed all over the Internet and the local television channels are also airing snaps of her close encounter with the football star. During dinner Cristiano told Bipasha that he was a big fan of Bollywood. Bipasha retorted, "I thought he was just trying to be sweet. I told him he didn't have to say he liked Bollywood films just to please me. Cristiano fished out his cell phone and made me hear Tujhse naraaz nahin from Masoom. He said, 'Now do you believe me?'" Bipasha laughs about her interaction with the soccer star saying, "Though he looks older, Cristiano is very young, just a boy. Now I have told him, I am only his fan on the field. Beyond the field he's my friend. I have told him I am his first Indian friend. We discussed John and my football film 'Goal'. I have invited Cristiano to India."
