Today i have decided to pay a tribute the Jazz and R&B singer Amy Winehouse who passed away aged 27, on 23rd July(not sure about the date). She was well known her confused looks and terrible dress up days. One of her bad days were of her walking the street in just a lingerie top and jeans. Viewing her pics, one can understand the singer was into drug abuse which is the culprit leading her to an early death. I loved her stylish looks and the beehive she wore for a hairdo, something that always seemed quite 'funny' to me but sure did make a fashion statement for her fans and designers.

She often wore a confused look and expressed a depressed pattern of behavior which attracted media apart from her success. Her song "You Know I'm No Good" gives an insight into her life with lyrics like " I cheated myself,
Like I knew I would, I told you I was trouble, You know that I'm no good....

Her powerful, soulful voice suited for the rock genre more but i wasn't so into listening to Amy Winehouse, reason why i didnt post her for MM before. Its sad her tragic death has proven how "anti-drugs, smoking, and alcohol kills'- so i just like to advice the world to be drug-free.

Amy was born to a Jewish family, her mom a pharmacist while her dad was a taxi driver and of course she would missed by fans and her celeb friends and associates no doubt, but most of all her parents would miss their daughter. Her "Rehab" and "Tears dry on their own" won her fame, but sad she has joined other young celebs who had died at 27, one of whom is Kurt Cobain.

She will always be missed for her soulful voice, her style, her confused behavior whatever else be it, she had a life which she lost, and though she is immortalized in the music she left behind, the world will surely miss her. Amy Winehouse- Born 14th September Died- 23rd July. May her soul RIP.

Its really shocking to know of the spit between Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony! But then who isn't aware of such happenings in the film industry? Its a wee bit non problematic issue that keeps cropping up for the celebrities that there isn't anymore interest in who is marring or who is about to, or already divorced. Well, and did you really think that? never will they be non wagging tongues where celebs are concerned, be it their link up's, make up's or break ups!

J.Lo and Marc Anthony tied the knot on June 5th, 2004 and there wasn't ever a slight bit of idea there was something cold brewing between them, no not coffee, if your mind did wander just now into a Sizzling Jennifer and Hottie Marc sipping a coffee on a cold winter morning. Well something that cold which lead them to a divorce! They did look the lead pair of the american idol finale's hottest couple but what happened two months later? A divorce.. a steamy one, not steamier than the performance during the show, though.

It has been more than 3 years since i have visited the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, the holy pilgrim place of not only the Muslims but all religions and even foreigners, but bollywood celebrity Shilpa Shetty had visited yesterday. Shes the co-owner of Indian Premier League (IPL) team Rajasthan Royals, and may have gone to offer prayers for her teams victory. You think if she went there without wearing a burqua (muslim dress), she would come out safe and sound other being trampled by the lunatic paparazzi(media) and crowd!!? no! so she wore one, gifted by cricketer Yusuf Pathan but was yet recognized as the burqua may not have been her fit.

I couldn't believe when i saw this unusual sight because this is the first time i have seen a human mermaid. Shiloh, aged 10, looked so cheerful in the video right down, but now she is safer in the lords care. It is sad that this intelligent and beautiful little girl is no more. She died on Friday 23rd from a pneumonia following a cold and was hospitalized days prior to her death.

She was very famously known as the mermaid girl who was born with a rare condition called 'mermaid syndrome'. Her legs were fused together from the waist. She had no genital organs and only one kidney worked partially. At her birth, doctors assumed she wouldn't survive for more than hours or maybe days, but they were proven wrong and the little girl lived 10 years of her life in zest. In some cases the legs could be separated but Shiloh's surgery couldn't be done for her blood vessels that crossed from side to side in her circulatory system, could have been severed.

Its a happy/sad story, the whole of it from her birth till she dies. I'm overwhelmed with remorse right now.. she also had the privilege to feature on The Oprah Winfrey show

May her soul RIP.. and my thoughts and prayers to the family in these tough hours.

It's disheartening to lose a talented singer whose comeback was scheduled next month to begin the first of 50 sold-out concerts at London's O2 Arena. Its disheartening not only for the coming(the future) but it kills to lose him for what he had already given us in the past. A phenomenal singer, composer, dancer, style icon and to much more to mention, the legend was always a praise on the tongues of his fans for his music, and despite being the controversial king for some of the negative reasons he was always loved by all for the humble person he was.

This brings back memories of princess Diana's tragic death when the world came to a halt realizing they lost a princess, a lady who could never be compared. Now as i sit and go back to the 'thriller' days, i wonder how many more hearts will cry as the news reaches their ears. For me, its' a shock.. wonder what you have to say?

Let us bow our heads in a two minute prayer to ask the lord to guide him in his afterlife, and may his soul RIP.

This is one actress i greatly admire after Nicole Kidman.. Nicole was my childhood idol for her beauty but Angelina along with her gorgeous image, has always been a good soul when it comes to charity, showing regard and concern for less fortunate kids around the world. That's what i admire her for.. now just yesterday the actress appeared to have highlighted a cause for refugees on Anderson Cooper's CNN show, being the United Nations Goodwill Ambassador.

She was moved to tears as she compared her kids the those living in poverty and the sufferers of war-torn countries.

NDTV Imagine`s new reality show Rakhi Ka Swayamvar. The nationwide search for the perfect husband will culminate in a grand wedding where Rakhi will tie the knot.

I can always expect this from the drama queen as she is fondly known as. Every where the lady goes her cheeky and honest mouth is sure to follow,but that's what Rakhi enjoys doing. When i watched her on the big boss show- season (1), i came to know her better as a normal human. Before that she was always known as the item girl, who danced her heart out on item numbers on the big screen, in bollywood. The almost complete insight into a struggling actors life on the small screen got the lady lots of recognition and sympathy from a wide audience around India and others countries.

Now what you see below is reality show and this time the Channal NDTV will help her in the search for her husband which i think is really a great concept to come up with. Rakhi's love story didn't turn out well when her boy friend Abhishek(not the Bachchan) ditched her for his career, when it was her(Rakhi) who had given lifted him to point where he is today. The then struggling(Abhi) actor, owes Rakhi a lot. She was already a well known item girl then.

The incident which was aired life on Tv where Abhi gets slapped by Rakhi on valentines day 2008 was shocking news. He had gone to her apartment with a large teddy almost her size and flowers, to make up after a fight and he chosen the right day. That was shocking news, yet we all accepted in our hearts it must have been another drama or publicity stunt of the drama queen!! Am sure the then madly in love man didn't mind the slap or did he, or was he part of the stunt? But oh, we just got to sit back and watch out for more hot news because the drama queen has lots to entertain us with! with or without Abhi.. hehe.. These stars i tell you!

My 13 years old younger sister Amanda is an extremely avid fan of the celebrity, Miley Cyprus. I'm sure everybody knows her? She is well known amongst the kids wide world and she is none other than, Hannah Montana the teen that stars on the kids channel nickelodeon on television. When my sister had come home for the Christmas vacations, i couldn't believe her transformation from a little girl into a lady. Deeply influenced by the television star, she was singing and praising the star throughout her holidays. When we four siblings(Amanda, younger brother, elder sis and myself) got together to spend time talking and having fun, there were precious moments i will never forget when my elder sister recorded a 10 minute video while my younger sister sang and danced away in glee. She also used a mike which comes with a mini piano keyboard set and my younger brother handled the music on the keyboard impressively. I wish i could show it to all of you but the video is quite huge in size and can't be uploaded here!! We had so much of fun that day and since that day, my kids and myself have turned into Nickelodeon addicts too! Amanda had even recorded messages like "As soon as I step on that stage, nothing matters. I don't think of it as work. It's just so much fun"... those were the messages she tried to imitate and a lot more. So sweet of her, we still listen to the messages while she's away at school.

Though i remained glued to the TV throughout the season of awards but didn't get the chance to watch any of them live, so just watched it over the news. Slum Dog Millionaire came as a shock to me for sure, because to me what seemed just an average movie, contributed to India's pride today. Everyone was overjoyed when the Slum Dog team were winners of specific categories, and it was the day the Indians anticipated with all theirs hearts when the nominations were announced. Of course, we are proud to have great musicians and lyricists(great talent).. and everywhere across the nation, headlines flashed, "India's first Oscar" "Rahman creates history" and it was true that India's awakening desire had come true..

My point of view, which is too late to mention about i know, but its just mine.. and it is that the movie was directed by an international director which makes the film a Hollywood and not a Bollywood flick. I guess, i just tried to figure out few main reasons which could have contributed towards the films award, i mean several awards, because it wasn't nominated in a foreign category but instead it was a very different Hollywood film compared to the usual ones. It was so very obvious the international audience got to watch something they hadn't watched before, like Indian masala.. they liked it, and the movie was a hit!! They even liked the music which is not so Hollywood, because you don't get to see dancing and singing in Hollywood.. more over, an insight into India's slums.. who wouldn't get teary eyed at such an emotional storyline.. All these ingredients cooked into one meal caused the endless possibilities that make Slum Dog Millionaire invincible!

That's Angelina's and brads beautiful babies.. the twins that were the most talked about since the pregnant mother claimed all rumors true. The 3 month twins look extremely adorable and as expected would take over both their parents beautiful and dashing looks. So now the two new members Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline( tough name) have joined the family of 6, that totals up to 8!

The pictures are said to have cost them a whooping $14 million and why do i feel the celebs babies are great way to making some quick $$$$$.. I mean for the couples themselves;) he he

Jamie Lynn Spears 17, had given birth on 19Th of June. The baby girl was named 'Maddie Briann Aldridge' and they even have explanations for the name, i guess it flew over 'my' head :)

Jamie is enjoying motherhood as she has expressed to OK! magazine, even posed for a beautiful mother daughter picture for the same magazine. And we all got to view a cute little 'Maddie' in young Mommy's Jamie's lap:)

I love taking care of her. It is so much fun. I just want to hug her and kiss her, and I'm happy all the time," she told OK!.

Hey people! Queen of drama Rakhi Sawant wins yeh hai jalwa! A dance show on television and it's months since the show went on air. Her audience had to put up with loads of tantrums and artificial drama from Rakhi, oh but all that paid of eventually.. I remember how she cried and left the stage of another dance show where she was the runner up, even before the winner was handed over their award and blamed the whole TV channel and others for cheating her, even paying no head to Salman Khans request. I thought if she didn't win this time, she would've gone on a gunning spree! hehehe.. she dances well and that was proved at last.

Well this time, she wasn't dancing with her boyfriend Abhishek, but instead a group of kids which rakhi owes accredit to. A lotta hard work was put into all their performances, i used to watch that.. and the chiller party(as they group was named) bagged a huge amount as prize money, which is a whooping 25 lakh!

An over whelmed Rakhi said, “I cannot believe that I have won! I have no words to express myself. All my hard work has finally paid off. God has been kind to me.”

Rakhi, slow and steady wins the race! haven't you heard of that in school?

Oh am so happy for the newest proud mommy Halle Berry, shes blessed with the dream she had been expecting all through her pregnancy! The song "isn't she so lovely" by Stevie Wander always played on her ipod and this is what she had to say in regards to the song "For some reason, that song keeps coming up on my iPod. We're like, 'It's a girl! It's a girl!" isn't she so lucky? or is the baby lucky to have the Oscar winner as her mom.. I think they're both lucky!

The baby's father is model Gabriel Aubry, Halle and Gabriel has met in 2005 during a Versace photo shoot.Three months later, the couple went public with their relationship.Its the couples first baby but the name hasnt been decided yet.Wish them all the best towards a new journey to parenthood..

The film Jodha Akbar, which created quite a controversy regarding the female lead is now making millions.. The fact that the movie portrayed Jodhabai as married to Akbar had hurt the sentiments of the rajput community, the reason being historical facts.They claimed that Jodhabai was not the Mughal emperor Akbar's wife as depicted in the movie.. neither was she the daughter of Raja Bharmal of Amber near Jaipur as shown in the movie and that she was the wife of Akbar’s son Salim!! Akbar's daughter-in-law, his wife? you better watch the movie if this interests you.. The film stars hithrik roshan and aishwarya rai.. and was released on the 15th of this month.

Whatever, despite being surrounded with controversies, the film crosses Rs 74 crores (approx 19 million USD) in just 10 days worldwide... a record for a Indian film!!

Scientists studying the genetics of eye colour at the University of Copenhagen found that more than 99.5 per cent of blue-eyed people, who volunteered to have their DNA analysed, have the same tiny mutation in the gene that determines the colour of the iris.

Professor Hans Eiberg of the university said he had analysed the DNA of about 800 persons with blue eyes, ranging from fair-skinned, blond-haired Scandinavians to dark-skinned, blue-eyed people living in Turkey and Jordan.

“All of them, apart from possibly one exception, had exactly the same DNA sequence in the region of the OCA2 gene. This to me indicates very strongly that there must have been a single, common ancestor of all these people,” he said.

The study reported in the journal Human Genetics indicates that the mutation originated in just one person who became the ancestor of all subsequent people in the world with blue eyes.

“From this we can conclude that all blue-eyed individuals are linked to the same ancestor. They have all inherited the same switch at exactly the same spot in their DNA,” professor Eiberg was quoted as saying by The Independent daily of Britain today

I thought if we went back many many years ago.. all humans have common ancestors??
