The winner, Nauman Sait

Oh! That was a heart pounding, struggle to win by the three finalists of the show 'roadies'. Today was the end of the tough hell down under roadies 6.0 and the winner is 'NAUMAN'- the guy has surely proved himself worthy/deserving of the roadies title and the prize money of course!

let me first write down what i think of Nauman, Kiri and Palak as they were the top three finalists-

Nauman(right) and his twin at the auditions
Nauman Sait(m)- he was given a chance to re-enter the show through a wild card entry after he was voted out by the other jealous roadies, but he came back and performed every task with the right spirit and won the roadies in an unbelievable way. Charming as ever, Tamanna's(his girl friend) hero, b'coz he always sided for her and got voted out for her too. So down to earth, never had an ego, hardly used a foul word and always spoke polity despite all the provoking, the criticisms and underestimations. He surely proved his critics wrong and remains the most deserving roadie of 6.0. My heartiest wishes to you, Nauman :-)

Kiri, smiling
Kiri Timung(m)- wild card re-entry too, he thought himself as a warrior, proved it to some extent by performing some of the tough tasks. The most bugging thing was was when he intended to choose Palak, a female, as his competent for the final task. He wanted an easy win but no, thank god Raghu and Rajiv gave him a dose of some competition sense before he finalized whom he would be choosing. In the final task, he was close to being the winner but hard luck, warrior :-)

Palak, deserving task? hehe
Palak(f)- the wild cat/tom boy of of the show, who never lost chances to bully and beat others up! Always faked her cries when she realized she was getting no where. The most disgusting moment was when she fell to the ground feigning a head swing or something.. hehe.. She performed well in the tasks but lost out due to the politics she played, plus the language she spoke wasn't of appropriate sense esp when while, being a roadie! She forgot she was on TV, which was being viewed by a wide audience national and international. She wouldn't have won anyway no matter how tom boyish and strong she was! The task, i guess was set up, like as if, for a man to man battle.. hehe..

Now, for the grand finale task episode-

There were two tasks set up for the final day. Three finalists, Kiri, Palak and Nauman make it to the final. The first task was to climb the high rocky hills tied onto ropes of course, bit dangerous where the loose rocks could have come rolling into their faces but luckily no one was hurt in that task.

Task 1, Kiri, Nauman and Palak
Kiri wins this task and as he mounts the hill, finds the 'hell down under' producer twins, Raghu and Rajiv waiting for him. The other two were stopped immediately and made to wait hooked on for fate to cut of their rope. They could have being praying and wondering whom could that be? Their fate being Kiri who was supposed to cut off the ropes of one them, he wouldn’t be taking with him to the finale. The roadies title and prize money were in his hands! He chooses Nauman over Palak after a tortuous challenge from the twins who literally compelled him to choose the tougher one as he couldn’t have an easy win, from a girl.

Nauman and Kiri, before the task 2(final task)

The second and last task, the most difficult one ever till today out of the ones i've seen on roadies 6.0. The two guys were chained onto a crane which had 15 kgs of heavy load to be pulled by them, walking about 20 steps towards the winning point on a slope. The guys really pulled, tugged, slipped, fell, groaned in pain but kept on pulling onto the chains. The whole scene was a bit heart-pounding all the time b'coz i knew i wanted my favorite roadie to be the winner and that did come true!

Nauman, was way behind Kiri at first, and at some time i guess he gave up hope. The camera zooms into his feet and its seems his feet or toes are bleeding profusely. He was in pain and i was almost disappointed because i didn't want Kiri to win.. I don’t know all of a sudden where and how some kind of force and passion and determination to win, empowers Nauman, and he begins to shout and pull onto the chains with all his might. Of course it was tough as they had chains on their hands, feet, neck.. but he finally manages to root out the flag from the winning point. I jumped with enthusiasm as the winner falls and lifts up the flag to prove his mettle!!

That was a close win between Kiri and Nauman.. but i guess Kiri's self-given title should be passed on to Nauman now, who is 'the true warrior' and the winner of roadies 6.0 :-)

PS. As soon as the final task pics are available, ill post them. Now, though Kiri didn't win, he is also considered a winner to some, he maybe, but i don't think as compared to Nauman! The reason is because the performance rates and mind games between both were much different. While Nauman played along the game, performed every tough task well.. Kiri, he preferred to be too quiet and hardly a performer, and it was his luck that got him in the final three b'coz of the votes from the others, and he was able to prove his win in two of the tasks. The amount of effort Nauman put in? did you see the final task??? hats of to Nauman!!!! :-)

Alisha, the baby doll has stepped on her 30th month! that was quick, just like i saw her as a new born few months ago when she wasn't able to move an inch without my help, ah.. you know what i mean.. i remember when she was new born, she looked white and her cheeks looked pinkish. She had the exact tiny eyes and face cut of that of the Chinese. I would call her my 'Chinese doll'.

Shes doing fine on her 30th month, turning out to be the little 'angelic devil' and i know you'll wonder why? Its because shes turning mischievous yet remains inncocent as ever. We've recently shaved her bald due to the heat, and its too unbearable for her esp when shes out traveling between her grand moms house, back home. Lately shes been eating all the stuff we're having for meals. Good girl she is, never whims, very gentle and delicate. Eats like a lady! only uses two fingers at this age, coz she hates getting all her fingers messy. I think shes taken that habit from me.. hehe..

Shes pretty adaptable to any where we take her these days, unlike when she was a baby. Shes getting used to facing new people coz before she was a little shy, and oh yeah, she still shies away from us when shes doing something we praise her for. haha.. when shes dancing or putting the things back in place, she blushes.. hehe.. my pretty cutie baby angel she is :-)

Anyway, they're going for a wedding party now. Going to be served their favorite biryani and other things for dinner. lovely, but i prefer being here and writing and comtemplating over things..

These two beautiful awards were given to me by Shydub and MyMeryl, thanks so much to both of you.. you are truly wonderful bloggers, sisters/friends to me and everyone.. This blogs world is blessed to have such friendly personalities like you both, out here :-)

The summer has set in, many days ago! But we're all feeling the heat penetrate into our minds every second. Here in cal, the rain seems to have ceased pouring on us.. was it because we complain too much during the monsoons? hehe.. but all i know is that the summer is sure making me feel as if am in a furnace! but only sometimes, and that's because am always under the shelter of my ceiling. Wonder how the working women goes about her work while shes traveling under the scorching sun, a sun-screen is a must for female regardless of her age.

I never used any sort of creams back then in school and instead played my life out on the basketball courts. yep, in the boarding school:-).. I even got sun burnt but retained the skin color while back at home for the vacations.. hehe.. I loved make up from a young age but hated the creamy substance(oils, gels, creams) on my face. During the winters i just used a moisturizer for dry skin but nothing during summers!

Now a days i see teens too, taking the beauty regime religiously, they don't need no one to tell them to do so! Of course, these days we got the dry based foundation to cover up the oily skin or the lotion. Young girls can even walk freely under the sun without a shade because they are prepared to face the sun, unlike us, years ago when i was a teen. The teens being obsessed with their beauty, they are also fashion fanatics too. They know what to wear out for the day. I watch my younger sibling and that's how i can tell! :-)

The females in their late 20's, the collage and office goers, also love playing safe when the summer heat is concerned but i guess a little more protection should do them just fine to help them save their skin from the harmful rays of the sun.

1. Apply a sun screen lotion, before going out in the sun after washing the areas. Change the lotion if it is a previous summers used one. Look for a lotion which contains an SPF of 15 or higher.

3. Wear cotton and lighter shades of apparel as the darker colors adsorb the harmful Uv rays easily.

4. Try avoiding the sun between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m, the times the suns rays are the strongest.

5. Eat right, and drink plenty of water or juices. Include lots of leafy veggies and other foods rich in antioxidants in your summer diet.

6. Minimal makeup can be used like just a mascara, a lip gloss, a concealer and switch to a bronzing blush to show off your natural beauty this summer.

The after sun care- Lotions with aloe Vera and vitamin E work best to retain the skins damage or use a soothing lotion to reduce sun burns, irritation and redness of the skin.

There shall be eternal summer in the grateful heart ~ Celia Thaxter. Happy summer everyone!!

Today i lost a very very good friend of mine, a person almost as close to my soul. Stupid reasons always create conflicts between people and before they realize whats happening, things are way to far to come under control. The bitterness, the stupidity of man-kind brings on one almost crushes a heart.. but all one can sit and do is to wait for a something close to a miracle.

Actually, today i learned of two losses, one of a dear friend who passed away few years ago. She was my childhood friend whom i used to count on as a best friend while we were together in the boarding school. A pretty thing she was, and i still remember about the five of us as best friends including 'her', and how we used to wear the same colored skirts and blouses or dresses to match. Whenever one of us were in trouble, the other four were always there for each other. None of us ever felt we were away from our parents because we took each other as sisters. One of them were my own cousin of course. The friendship did have our own share of "not-talking to you for days" or "am breaking my friendship with you" and a lot more of those 'teen fights' but then it happens in all kinds of relationships/friendships. Yet we remained good friends.

We lost touch once out of school and with my marriage at an early age, i began to be so involved with my newly wed and family life and life went on.. only today i heard the news that our friend had passed away due to circumstances she faced, prob because of her in-laws ill treatment. I was shocked!! How come i didn't know, but now that shes no more, may her soul rest in peace. My hearts almost torn today with two unbearable losses, though my friend is still in my heart ill never get to see her again.. the other one will be back in my life soon(i pray to god for that)..

The other was and is a person most dear, but we aren't friends anymore. Why do people turn away from each other despite all the closeness? i cant understand the game fate and destiny plays on us as living beings. It is what we make out of ourselves or was it meant to be? It takes two hands to clap, and when two people, both headstrong and adamant tend to bicker then god could have saved the 'bond from breaking'. Now once broken, the world comes falling down but nothing can be done except 'hope' and 'prayers'. Especially when you know that there is a distance between, which makes communication even more difficult, then how on earth would one understand the feelings of their friends when they aren't close enough to see it. How can someone act upon mere words spoken or written by a person whom is considered a loved one. I just hope and pray that no matter what, god keeps bestowing me with his blessings and lets me have back all my dear friends whom i lost.

No words can be taken back, nothing can be undone but true friends shall always remain true friends and only time can heal the pain and bind back the broken bond.

Day before yesterday night, i was in all tears and a bit terrified as a Alisha, my 29mnth old doll was down with high fever. My pretty usually never catches a cold or never gets a fever but i guess the fevers in the air these days, and so she couldn't escape.. The hope and prayers which kept running in my mind was that she doesn't get the convulsion(fits) that occurred to her when she was almost a year younger(Convulsions are when person's muscles contract and relax repeatedly..).

A younger Alisha :-)

I will never forget that day when the sudden vigorously shaking(jerking movements) baby almost fell of my lap and killed my heart. Yes, she was playing when it suddenly occurred without a warning. Luckily i wasn't alone those days and all the in-laws and my husband were present at home that day, because if they weren't, i'd surely get unconscious watching my baby suffer the con.. They rushed her to the emergency that night and what a frightful, disheartening night that was, only the lord could understand what went through me. I don't know why he made me see that day because never in my life again would i want to watch a baby suffering a fever convulsion.

But anyway, the doc said it was normal and that the con was triggered off by a raised temperature and we must see to it that the temp, never rises too high till she is, at least 6 years old. I know the fever mustn't rise high in any kid for that matter, but in Alisha's case we must be much more alert.

A year gone by, Alisha's always remained playful and active, and then last nights sudden fever on her.. but after doing the cold water sponges and washing her hair, the fever slowly subsided. The whole of yesterday she was fine and no signs on returning fever! Now am a happy, relieved and thankful to god, mommy again :-)

Dont do this!!
I want to advice and suggest all mothers and parents never to struggle with a kid while the con is occurring. Leave the baby alone, not unattended but don't try to press down the baby's limbs or suppress the vigorous and jerking movements. The con slowly subsides on its own and though it seems a baby is almost lifeless, not to worry moms as the baby will be normal again. The risks are high on babies that suffer these fits and that's why parents must always further educate themselves on these common baby aliments.

Note: my kid had a convulsion last year, when she was almost a year younger. Read about it HERE

I had written in one of my previous posts about You thought breaking up is hard?. Here i have few more points which a couple should look into when a relationship seems wavy, and letting go is often the choice they're left with.

Its often said and heard that letting go isn't easy, but if you put into consideration that.. though love is an emotion we feel right to the deepest point of our hearts, it should never mean you hold on if there too much to handle. It shouldn't ever be taken for granted, because then love turns sour in a relationship which seems like almost falling off a cliff.

One sided love:
First and most important point is when love is one sided. People often love someone even knowing they aren't loved in return. They carry on loving, but soon negligence follows from the partner, and its not fair to love when you aren't in return. This relationship is just for a short term, think of the future, marriage, kids.. family life. Would you like spending your life in a loveless relationship for a lifetime? There will be nothing to discuss about because love cant be forced upon and from your partner. A sensible decision would be to politely walk out of the relationship and your deserving love will surely return or enter into your life when the time is right :-)

Negligence, jealousy and betrayal:
Secondly, giving time to each other is extremely necessary or else the relationship gets suffocating when either one of the two began feeling lonely without his/her partner. There could a kind of loss in interest from either of the partners, reasons are plenty.. a new relationship maybe blossoming or work related issues. There could be compatibility problems when lack of communications inflict conflicts into the relationship. Either of the partners trying avoiding which then obviously lights the match! Imaginations run wild, doubts empower a neglected mind and the blaming arguments tend to follow.. would the relationship based on negligence, jealousy or betrayal last? Another reason to wish the neglected love/relationship a goodbye :-)

Brutality in a relationship:
Thirdly, when one of the partners are rowdy. OK, in the initial period couples love those convincing moments, they also overlook mistakes or hurtful moments because of the love they share. They hurt partner hopes its not going to be repeated, but when it comes to be beaten up or abused.. habits never die! They can to be eliminated for a while, but back again.. this time making the dominated and helpless partner realize how much their lives are at stake. The entire decision is upto you. Throughout your life, you wouldn't want to be backing a partner who abuses you physically or mentally? Think about it and set yourself free.. your life is a precious gift from god, don't let brutality end it :-)

Don't kill yourself for the sake of love. Let your love free and if has to be yours, it will return to you right?

If you are a parent then am sure there is one factor which deliberately arouses excitement, enthusiasm and tensed emotions in our minds and that is, when it comes to shopping for your kids! Like many other moms i am one indecisive mom too when it comes to shopping for my kids because every time i come across the latest products, i feel like grabbing every every piece off the shelves. But then i know i need to make choices, and sometimes just can’t seem to fathom which color or design i go should with and i land up buying products and storing them up months before my kids actually use them. The last time i bought a golden dress for Alisha but she doesn't like the belt and the fit wasn't right! my fault, i had purchased it months ago when she was too little to wear it and when i thought it would've been the right time during another kids birthday party, she actually grew out of its size! That's not a toy i know, but then toys and kids essentials too need color and design to go according to our kids choices. For example: Aryans potty.. he never used that too because the color wasnt right for him!

This is not only about choice or the right decision but about finding the right product which is more important than just color and design. It makes it especially more difficult for first time moms to find the right product for their kids, but i think now our moms need not worry anymore because here comes http://www.parentricity.com to our aid, which is a social networking place for parents like you and me who can share, discuss and gather knowledgeable reviews about products between a group of parents. This helps parents make informed product decisions as it would mean much more to trust real reviews rather than normal ads :-)

Parentricity also focus's on bringing recommendations and reviews of products by real parents and you can read it here at http://parentricity.com/product/reviews which will also provide you information on highest rated products making it easier for you to choose. So i would like to wish every parent a happy knowledgeable shopping, from today :-)

NDTV Imagine`s new reality show Rakhi Ka Swayamvar. The nationwide search for the perfect husband will culminate in a grand wedding where Rakhi will tie the knot.

I can always expect this from the drama queen as she is fondly known as. Every where the lady goes her cheeky and honest mouth is sure to follow, but that's what Rakhi enjoys doing. When i watched her on the big boss show- season (1), i came to know her better as a normal human. Before that she was always known as the item girl, who danced her heart out on item numbers on the big screen, in bollywood. The almost complete insight into a struggling actors life on the small screen got the lady lots of recognition and sympathy from a wide audience around India and others countries.

Now what you see below is reality show and this time the Channal NDTV will help her in the search for her husband which i think is really a great concept to come up with. Rakhi's love story didn't turn out well when her boy friend Abhishek(not the Bachchan) ditched her for his career, when it was her(Rakhi) who had given lifted him to point where he is today. The then struggling(Abhi) actor, owes Rakhi a lot. She was already a well known item girl then.

The incident which was aired life on Tv where Abhi gets slapped by Rakhi on valentines day 2008 was shocking news. He had gone to her apartment with a large teddy almost her size and flowers, to make up after a fight and he chosen the right day. That was shocking news, yet we all accepted in our hearts it must have been another drama or publicity stunt of the drama queen!! Am sure the then madly in love man didn't mind the slap or did he, or was he part of the stunt? But oh, we just got to sit back and watch out for more hot news because the drama queen has lots to entertain us with! with or without Abhi.. hehe.. These stars i tell you!

I would like to wish Rakhi all the best, may she find the right partner and settle down.
I will follow the show and update you all about it. Hope you have a great time viewing her pics :-)

Does anyone know one true fact about me? Well it is that i am an ardent music lover and music is what i eat, sleep and dote on. The day begins and ends with online songs and music videos playing on my PC throughout the day! I have also just turned a member of Kerchoonz a full-on social networking site that delivers music with a fun experience and i have now included this place as a part of my online fun zones. Kerchoonz is built for artists to create, share or listen to other aspiring artists from every part of the world while each one gets paid for it, and each one is a winner here!

Do you also wish to have a play list of your own on Kerchoonz, you have to sign up and create your profile which is a very simple thing to do. You can also blog, post on forums, play games, create polls & quizzes, chat, join groups and schools or submit current news. Its free, no cost! But am sure the twist here makes you jump with joy, as you would love hearing that you can also create your own music and also get paid every time someone listens or downloads your music. The same way the other artists get paid if you listen or download their music, while its all free for you! Don't worry, its all legal and created by song writers, composers and music lovers themselves.

There is no pop-ups opening the music player which allows you to listen to your play-lists online because is it built into the page itself, right on the header. There will also be no interruptions to your music even as the pages change! If you like any song of the artists just clicking on the 'add to profile', gets the song instantly into your player. The sites navigation is also so flexible and easy, and you get all the tabs featured on top of the pages with a few clicks of your mouse. You can also display your other networking sites like myspace, youtube and facebook below your network tabs. Isn't it going to be fun?

If you wish to show off your profile and music to other artist around the web then Kwidgets, a new feature just lounged, will be of use to you. Its your own mini profile which you can paste all over the net showing off your music, pics, videos, blogs and links to online shops where the tunes are sold and much much more. The widget comes in different dimensions to integrate into your sites and this way you can be up-to-date with your latest media and content, through the mailing lists!

You will also get paid for the referrals that sign up under you so don't forget to spread the word and your link too! For more details about how you get paid visit their site right now, and also encourage your family and friends to be a part of this widely growing network. Have fun on your space, guys :-)

Hi friends, i am too sick today.. got a bad cold, cough and fever again. I think i've been stressing a lot from the time i was back, since the bad phase during the months of January and February. I think i hadn't completely recovered from that difficult phase and its taking over me again. I feel am not able to make it as i planned i would. I couldn't initiate the awards program for male and female blog of the month, and i think according to me, will have to put away all my ideas till the end of this month.

I couldn't even complete that in time. What makes me so distracted i cant figure out, but i think i need to focus on my goals so that am able to accomplish them, and in time. It really harms and hurts my ability to carry out something i want to do. My mind wanders into an imaginative world every time i try to begin something leaving the work pending. To make matters worse, i've even got this terrible cold and cough and to add to that, a fever too!

Am finding my bones aching like anything, feel as if they're giving way and i cant understand why should i take my medicines in time. I hate them! See, the irritations already getting to me.. haha.. yet am laughing coz am not in my senses now! yeah, ive written those posts below and above and now am drained out!

But am not feeling well at the idea to put aside my work and what i've created. Will i have to think another way out :-)

And yeah, this isn't going to stop me from making my rounds, today.. my friends are waiting for me and i've got to visit them :-)

Two hours more and i'll be back visiting.. till them, have fun my friends :-)

The city where i reside in, Calcutta(WB)- The Bengali's, as they are called known as, love fish to be included in their daily meals even if in the form of only machh bhaja(fish fry)! No matter what else is served for meals, but fish included, remains an important part of the normal Bengali household and nothing specializes beyond fish dishes here. If you would be lucky to visit Calcutta and spend time with any of the Bengali families... your platter wouldn't be complete without an ilsish fry or fish curry or fish cooked in other diverse styles, with a sweet taste of rasgullas or doi(sweetened curds) at the end of the meal.

Here in cal, not only the Bengali's but also the non-Bengali's, and for that matter i even include myself... who is crazy for fish! We cant resist picking up some of the many varieties selling at the fish market. You will find tons of fish sellers lined up at the market shouting out the names and prices of the fishes, and to be in time for the market... one has to be up early and race to their destination or else the fishes are sold out in no time! The curried style of fish is known as maccher jhol and relished almost daily by the bongs as they humorously call themselves! That's what the spirit of west Bengal/Calcutta is all about :-)

At my home too, we love fish curried, steamed and fried... when am frying the fish, the air fills up with a tempting aroma and my taste buds tend to develop... i cant help, but my fingers find their way around the already fried pieces to be tasted and tested before the actual meal!.. hehe.. My husband is food lover, and at our home, we have plenty of experimental specialties making their way into his stomach resulting into an ever-contented man! Like they say the way to a mans heart is through his stomach, i say "the way to a woman's heart is through her mans happiness and content"... Think about it? :-)

A recipe for your platter

Machcher Jhol

Ingredients:
Fish (of your choice)- 500 gm; (thick slices, diagonally)
Turmeric- 1 tsp
Salt- to taste
Grind Together
1 ½ cup: Onion, roughly chopped
1 tsp: Garlic, chopped
2 tsp: Ginger, chopped
2-3: Dried red pepper
½ tsp: Turmeric
1 tsp: Salt or to taste
Proceed:
½ cup: Mustard oil
1 tsp: Onion seeds
¼ tsp: Cinnamon, broken in small pieces
Coriander leaves for garnish
4 pcs: Cloves
4 pcs: Green cardamoms
1-2: Bay leaf
2-3: Green chillies, slit lengthwise
3 cup: Water

Method
1. Wash the fish and apply the ½ tsp salt and 1 tsp turmeric over all the pieces.
2. Heat the oil in a heavy based saucepan, and fry fish slices in it, first on one side, then the other, over high heat, till a golden colour.
3. Lift the fish out of the oil, and keep aside.
4. In the same oil, add the onion seeds, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and bay leaf, stir fry 2-3 times, and add the ground paste.
5. Sauté till fat separates then add the green chillies and stir fry a few times. Add the water and bring to a boil and then simmer for about 15 minutes, uncovered.
6. Add the fish just before serving, bring to a boil (by which time the fish should be cooked through, otherwise simmer till done).
7. Serve hot garnished with the coriander leaves.

More of west Bengal cuisines coming up in a few posts from now, the next being the delicious mouth watering rasogullas(sweet dish) :-)
