According to msnbc.com the people who went to watch the midnight show of 'This Is It' were moved to tears and joy. Fans screamed and cried and thought endlessly about the late pop star.

Among, the celebrities who went to watch the midnight show were actors Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jennifer Lopez, Paula Abdul, Katy Perry, Adam Lambert, Will Smith, Paris Hilton and many other hollywood stars.

Basically a compilation of interviews, rehearsals and backstage footage of Michael Jackson as he prepared for his series of sold-out shows in London.

Near the film's end, Jackson and the crew hold hands as he gives them a pep talk about the London shows.

"It's a great adventure," Jackson tells his colleagues. "We want to take them places they've never been before. We have to bring love back into the world." In time this broadcast may very well be available on DVD. That's a DVD I'll get, even if it requires me to get a cash advance.

I've watched plenty of movies on Halloween night but to experience it in person would an entirely different experience, really frightening.. it’s something i have never seen or witnessed in person. Must be eerie and spooky like the movies, eh!? but something totally amusing.. i know, i know.. i've also grown up reading and hearing about it in books, and from my relatives and friends who live in those foreign lands :-)

Though i have watched movies depicting Halloween celebrations and heard so much, i was still oblivious to many questions i had in mind. Well, at last i couldn't stop myself from curiously hopping around the internet for history, traditions, activities, and some safety tips regarding the much awaited Halloween night.

I also know it’s a night where kids are prone to accidents. It’s obvious, and important as parents to practice cautiousness on festivals and occasions. To ensure everyone has a safe Halloween i've put down a few Halloween safety tips, and activities for kids. This is a post from my other blog (pregnancy and parenting).

I wish i could be part of the celebrations, i know i cant, but i can.. wish you all a HAPPY AND SAFE HALLOWEEN :-)

I couldn't believe when i saw this unusual sight because this is the first time i have seen a human mermaid. Shiloh, aged 10, looked so cheerful in the video right down, but now she is safer in the lords care. It is sad that this intelligent and beautiful little girl is no more. She died on Friday 23rd from a pneumonia following a cold and was hospitalized days prior to her death.

She was very famously known as the mermaid girl who was born with a rare condition called 'mermaid syndrome'. Her legs were fused together from the waist. She had no genital organs and only one kidney worked partially. At her birth, doctors assumed she wouldn't survive for more than hours or maybe days, but they were proven wrong and the little girl lived 10 years of her life in zest. In some cases the legs could be separated but Shiloh's surgery couldn't be done for her blood vessels that crossed from side to side in her circulatory system, could have been severed.

Its a happy/sad story, the whole of it from her birth till she dies. I'm overwhelmed with remorse right now.. she also had the privilege to feature on The Oprah Winfrey show

May her soul RIP.. and my thoughts and prayers to the family in these tough hours.

Elders bath robes
When i was young i loved to be snuggled in a bath wrap once out of the shower. My mom used to bath me with immense care, she'd see to it that the soap and shampoo never swept into my tender eyes because i hated the burning sensation. I know you all do, but it was a mothers love i miss so much. I hated the cold breeze hitting on my skin after a warm bath, and the ordinary bath robe did save my skin a lot.

I'm no more a child to be fooled into ordinary towels wraps, i'd prefer a terry bath robe these days if i were given a chance. Its thick and would keep me warm from the cold breeze that i hate, especially the winters. We are fine with cold baths in India! But, even then i would only wear it when the kids are out. :-)

Kids bath robes

I saw a few soft minty ones for kids, they'll love it and you wouldn't have to chase them for baths then. The parents i assume, wouldn't worry to spend an extra dime on a waffle bath robe for self pampering too, because they're worth it!

Its early morning and my neighbors have woken me up really much earlier than my usual wake up time! I can tell by the music that plays in the surrounding! Today is their holy festival of chhat puja. Mostly the Bihari's(people of different state in India) celebrate this festival and i am obviously not very aware about its history being non hindu but am always anxious to understand each festival and why it is celebrated and i'll admit i understand that most people celebrate their festivals by religious observance, fasting and feasting?

I don't think all of the hindus celebrate. I guess, the people who reside in the northern parts of India(Bihar) celebrate this festival for family protection, health and prosperity. They dip themselves in the river Ganga after fasting and making an offering to the sun god. Its a four day festival and a colorful one. I've never seen so many devotees, like in lakhs, offer prayers almost half dipped in the rivers before and i must get to watch this someone. Would be a great view.. watch it for yourself :-)

Note: You can get more info here :-)

When i was below 10, i used to collect these rare old coins my grand-dad kept in a metal box. Since he always knew i had the zest for coin collecting, he encouraged me and rummaged into the old trunks he seldom opened, during holidays, to keep adding more coins to my collection. If i would ever let my kids know that i've still kept it, i would only do so as they turn grown ups.

If you are reading this, i assume you might be a coin collector or an investor too? You might be looking out for resources of others collectors and investors and i can suggest you silver dollars which could offer you more than you expect. They're trusted leaders in investments and part of the Monex family of companies for 40 years. They're impressive in their offering as they can also provide you with access to valuable grade coins worth a lump some!

The wish i couldn't put into action, i hope every one of you are able to achieve success in your rare coin investments and collections, and you can be more successful by first gaining the knowledge and advantage of a coin expert. They're professional and can help you to build your coin portfolio effectively, plus get highest quality rare coins available at perfect prices!

Big boss 3 contestants/inmates/housemates

Boring big boss 3 begins to soar with all the its housemates getting too aggressive, and even disintegrating to bad behavior(wanting to beat each other up being celebrities!) on the reality show. Read till the end to know why..

Having watched and enjoyed all the episodes of the the 1st and 2nd season of big boss, this season of big boss 3 is a real boredom and the celebs seem like they've been ridiculed into living in the house. They are a set of people who either react to any situation as cry babies or spit fire at every single chance!! There is no entertainment except for abusive language, and shocks!

The house is no doubt, wonderland and no wonder the inmates have lost themselves somewhere in the mushroom house! colorful and mushroom shaped, this house is smaller than the previous seasons but the most beautiful one decorated with exquisite furniture and decors. Out in the garden there are mushrooms shaped seats.
Boys bedroom

I think they should make the script more interesting and entertaining with twists and turns or else they'll all be going to jail.. lol.. there is also a jail as punishment for those who break the rules.

Lets see what happens tomorrow as the appalled inmates have asked for justice from bis boss! Kamal R khan- a director, had flung his drinking water bottle at Rohit Verma- well known designer, following a heated argument which accidentally hit our beautiful bollywood actress Shamita Shetty on her arm and she who was quite shaken up by the incident. Shamita also happens to be younger sister to Shilpa Shetty- winner of big brother and top bollywood actress! Kamal has been a nagger, bragger and lazybum since he entered into the house always boasting of his huge payments and that now he has to work in the house for people like Rakhi Sawants mother. But dint he know that! He is voted for eviction but i doubt he'll be kept till friday(eviction day)..

Justice will prevail today.. so.. since the show is telecast daily at 9.pm and the big boss repeat telecast is at 11.pm.. following an immediate live telecast at 12.30.am.. dont forget to tune into to watch big boss 3, as i assume, it begins to get interesting from today :-)

Check out the reaction when she realizes shes her straps have snapped on-stage! I think it takes guts to remain onstage and continue a performance during a wardrobe malfunction and Whitney proved shes not a nerd. I guess the celebs are always ready for such incidences. Not a big deal isn't it... or is it??

Whew! how time flies.. few years ago i was confined to labor and little did i know i would be blessed with my baby girl Alisha who has just turned three years old today, 18th oct! Yes, its her birthday today... but it's just 2.42am right now and i have to wake up early, earlier than usual(wink) to spend the whole day pampering her and then we'll party for her along with a continuation of Diwali celebrations(playing with the fireworks) tomorrow eve.. hehe.. She's been anxious about her cake and Diwali leftover crackers/fireworks and even asked me at midnight for it! i explained if she didn't sleep soon, the butterflies(which she very funnily doesn't like) will come and take away her cake.. hearing this she fell off to sleep in deep thought.

Update(morn)- forgot to hit publish though i thought i did!!.. anyway, i've woken up to another new day! :-)

India will be celebrating Diwali in one days time and the city is all geared up for the festival of lights! Every street is dressed up in pretty lanterns and lights, every home is being cleaned and decorated with rangoli, diyas, lamps and candles.

Its a five-day long festival, each day being significant in its own terms which you will understand when you read all the info about this holy festival through the link above.

Am familiar with most of the Diwali customs out of which these three really make me feel good :-)

Rangoli is a traditional and holi ritual, a colorful art which the women decorate on their door steps, and the main purpose on Diwali is to welcome the goddess Lakshmi who is also called the goddess of wealth. She is worshiped with immense devotion, and she in return blesses her devotees with prosperity and wealth.

No festival is incomplete without sweets and traditional delicacies and Diwali too, which is usually celebrated with lighted skies, crackers, sparklers and other fireworks, cant be imagined without sweets, as there is a custom to exchange sweets to the friends and neighbors.

Rockets, christmas trees, sparklers, ground wheel known as charka, diyas and lighed streets etc etc.. they all add to the festivities and sure light up the skies along with excitement and thrill of children, and adults too!

Have a happy and safe Diwali with these do's and dont's tips..

Photo and below content courtesy: Timesofindia

The Do’s:

- Before bursting fire crackers, look for an open space and ensure there are no combustible and inflammatory things around. If so remove them at once

- Always buy fire works from licensed and reliable sellers

- Keep small children away from the bursting area

- Use a sparkler, agarbatti (incense stick) or a long fire wood to light a cracker as they keep you at a safe distance and do not possess a naked flame

- Read the label on the crackers and follow the instructions carefully

- While igniting aerial fire works like rockets ensure that they are not facing any opening like an open window, door or an open building which may cause fire accidents

- Keep fireworks stock away while lighting a particular firework

- Wear footwear while lighting fireworks

- Keep a bucket full of water handy

- Be prepared for emergency

- Organize a community display of fireworks rather than individuals handling crackers

- Keep first aid and buckets of water handy. In the event of fire, extinguish flame by pouring water from the buckets. Every major fire is small when it starts

- Light only one firework at a time, by one person. Others should watch from a safe distance

- In case of burns, pour large quantity of water on the affected area

- In case of major burns, after extinguishing the fire, remove all smouldering clothes. Wrap the victim in a clean bed sheet

- The patient should be taken to a burns specialist or a major hospital. Don’t panic

- In case of eye burns, wash the eye with tap water for 10 minutes and take the victim to a hospital

The Don’ts:

- Do not wear nylon clothes. Prefer cottons while bursting crackers

- Strictly avoid using matches and lighters for bursting crackers as they have open flames that can be dangerous

- Never ignite aerial fireworks (like rockets) if there is any overhead obstruction present like trees and wires

- Never ever leave a lit match, agarbatti (incense stick) or sparkler near unused crackers

- Never experiment with crackers or make your own fire works

- Avoid bursting fire works on roads

- Never ever light a cracker in your hand. See to it that you put it down and ignite it

- Don’t keep your face close to the cracker while trying to light it

- Do not throw fire works at people

- Never give any firework item to small children

- Never try to burst crackers indoors or from inside a vehicle

- Do not have fire works in your pocket while igniting another

- Do not tend to burst crackers when some one else is trying to ignite one

- When crackers take time or do not ignite immediately, do not indulge in trying to burst them. Rush to a safe place immediately. Throw some water to diffuse them

- Never try to light used fireworks

- Do not ignite fireworks in any container

- Do not approach immediately the misfired fireworks

- Do not tamper with misfired fireworks

- Do not wear loose, hanging clothes. Secure all clothes properly

- Do not apply any cream or ointment or oil on burnt area

Here is an update from my post We're waiting for the festival of diwali, and some diwali recipes to enjoy and i'll be posting a few more recipes as promised. I had already posted a kaju barfi recipe which is a great delight to eat.. here are few more for everyone to try out..

Sweet indian traditional recipes

Malpua (pancakes in syrup) in 9 steps!

Ingredients:
2 cups water
3 cups sugar
Saffron strands
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
500 gms flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 can (400gms) sweetened condensed milk
1 litre milk to make rabri
Slivered almonds and pistachios to garnish
Ghee to deep fry malpuas

Method:
1. Mix the milk and 1 cup of sugar in a thick-bottomed pan and cook to reduce it to a fourth of its original volume. Stir frequently or the milk will burn at the bottom of the pan. When the milk has thickned as above, remove it from the fire, allow it cool and then chill in the refrigerator. This is rabri (sweetened thickened milk).
2.In another pan, mix 2 cups of water and 2 cups of sugar and boil. The syrup is ready when you get a single-thread consistency. The way to test this is to stir the syrup with a spoon, lift the spoon out and carefully touch the syrup on it with your index finger. Press your index finger and thumb together and gently pull apart. The sugar will stretch to form a single 'thread'. If this happens the syrup is ready. If not keep boiling and test occasionally till done.
3. When the syrup is ready add the cardamom powder and saffron and mix well. Keep the syrup aside to use later.
4.In a large mixing bowl, blend the condensed milk, flour and baking powder together to form a smooth batter.
5.While you are mixing the batter, heat enough ghee in a deep frying pan to cook the malpuas.
6.When the oil is hot, use a ladle to gently pour the batter into the oil to form circles about 4" in diameter.
7.Cook till golden brown. Remove from the oil and put directly into the sugar syrup.
8.Remove after 2-3 minutes and drain on a wire rack with a plate underneath to catch the dripping syrup.
9.To serve, place 2 malpuas in a plate, spoon rabri over them and garnish with slivered nuts.

Gujia, with khoya(mawa) and dry fruits

Ingredients :
Flour 250 grams
Khoya 500 grams
Raisins a few
Almonds 100 grams (finely chopped)
Cooking oil 3 tablespoon
Water 100 ml
Sugar 250 grams

Method:
Mix the oil and flour properly to form a binding consistency of breadcrumbs.
Add some water and knead entire mixture, lighty.
Make a soft dough and set it aside, covering it with damp.
Fry the khoya in cooking oil till it becomes light brown and then mix the sugar into it carefully.
Add the almonds and raisins, and fry for a few more minutes. Remove from fire and let it cool. Make small thick flat rotis out of that kneaded dough.
Fill half of flattened roti with the khoya mixture and roll it between your palms, sealing the sides of the roti keeping the khoya inside it.
Make the sealing look decorated by a hemming.
Deep-fry these gujias until it becomes light golden brown, keeping the flame at low. Take out the gujias on a newspaper and let the oil get soaked.
Serve hot or store it in an airtight container for using it on specials days like diwali.

Its barely a month we all celebrated the Durga Puja festival and three days to go for Diwali, the festival of lights! I had written about it if you would like to read it.. head over to Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth visits us on diwali(the festival of lights). It always gets pretty exciting before a festival nears because it brings with it so much of joy and delight.

Being a non-hindu i get the privilege to celebrate this festival with my sister and her family(married to a hindu). My son and daughter enjoy bursting crackers and eating the puja prasad..

Though shopping and other exciting activities make up the pre-celebrations but the main part of any celebration is feasting and especially in India, almost every hindu/bengali household gets involved into the preparing of delicious traditional sweets and other dishes for their families and guests who would be visiting them. Here are some recipes for Diwali.. Am sure you will enjoy relishing them once your fingers touch them :-)

Kaju barfi

Ingredients
3 cups Cashew powder
2 cups Sugar
0.5-cup Water
Silver foil

Method
Prepare some sugar syrup of almost 2 thread consistency and dissolve the cashew powder in the solution. Keep stirring the solution and once its thickened spread it on a plate. Before the barfi cools and hardens, cover it with the silver foil and cut into into diamond shapes. Your barfis ready, enjoy it with your family and relatives on diwali.

I'll be updating some more tomorrow.. dont forget to hop back here :-)

I have recently submitted two of my newest blogs to a number of web directories. I guess this should take me one step ahead of getting my blogs indexed into google and other search engines, also allowing traffic to come to my blogs quicker. These web directories are mainly listed in category and sub category wise and sometimes one may even pay to have his/her website included into the directory. I’ve submitted mine to web directories Yahoo and Dmoz which are free and I didn’t even need to add a reciprocal link to my site which means if I add a link to their directory, I am also provided a link by them to be added to my site in order to get mine added to theirs. This way I got only one way back link and is definitely beneficial for me. These directories are free yet secure. There are also bid to submit directories where you can bid for your websites position. Say the higher you bid, your link will make it to the higher position on the directory. If you have recently built a business website, then it’s advisable to submit your site to the business web directory which is likely to attract people looking only for business purposes. This would help you benefit more than submitting to plain directories.

I have just submitted the best of India.com website to jasmine directory which is a free and secure web directory because I felt this site which updates us about India’s best, be it the heritage of India, the weather of India, states of India, cuisines of India, festivals of India, religions of India, or any other useful link has top information about India for one and all. Any tourist who wants to visit India must visit this website first and gather all the information needed to visit the land of different cultures so that his/her visit to India turns out well and they don’t return to they own land with bitter experiences of india. With so many people speaking different languages I think it’s sometimes difficult for the westerners to know and understand better of the Indians. I don’t want our foreign friends to think wrongly of India, and so with all the information they gather from this site, I wish them good experiences once they visit our beautiful country. When you visit India you must make it a point to visit the magnificent Taj Mahal located in Agra because it’s the symbol of love built by Emperor Shah Jahan for the love of his life, his wife Mumtaz Jahan. Doesn't India already sound amazing? So pack your bags and hop on your quickest flight to visit us here :-)

This is what web directories and made for! To give out the best to the surfers, is to provide them with the top websites on one click of their mouse, but of course one searching for the closest possible keyword. Now the keyword trick is another story which I shall post about some other day.

Big Boss 3 had arrived and has already been aired on tv since sunday, 4th. This was much to my surprise, disappointment and anger because when i had been waiting for the inaugural epi to begin on monday i was oblivious to exact date and day for its inaugural! On seeing how excited i was to finish cooking lunch+dinner(shot cut.. hehe) and get in front of the tv later in the evening to watch the welcoming of the contestants by the Big B Amitabh Bachchan himself, my excitement was suddenly intervened by my hubby and son Aryan's words, who said "mummy they had showed big boss yesterday, it was the first day" i was shocked, i stood there and asked my hubby "what is he saying? isn't the first epi going to be aired today being monday??? to which my hub replied "it began yesterday, which world are you in?!"

YEAH... which world was i in really in i have no idea right now but all this came much to my disappointment as i longed to watch big boss since the day they'd been previewing on tv and didn't want to miss out on the first epi for nothing! But good for me and Aryan, i was lucky to get to watch the repeat telecast and i did very satisfactorily or i was going to blast up Aryan for watching his cartoon day in and day out which forcibly had me divert my mind away from tv most for the time!! and for not allowing me keep in sync with my favorite channel on which big boss was about to be being aired then.. I was adamantly not even going to watch any of the epi as i blurted out in anger.. hehe.. Good i checked out the repeat schedule and was in time to watch My favorite Big boss..

oh! I have to tell you all there are few rare characters on the show and you must get these updates from me right here, so don't forget to come back here tomorrow for my take on the first three days! wonder how they're going to live the rest of the days since the first itself day past with tears, smiles and fights! ta-ta for now :-)

This song is dedicated to all the people who have lost someone very dearest and especially to those who have been late in apologizing for your wrong doing to that person or you wanted to let someone close know you loved them a lot but could never let across to them when they were living. I feel one should never hesitate to say sorry, i love you or appreciate a person while they're living for it maybe too late when you really want to...

This song always makes me emotional because i miss my mom a lot. I feel she is always living with me in the form of my daughter Alisha but its sad i cant have her hug me and console me when am mad and i cant tell her my deepest feelings, though am glad i had her as my mother while she lived. Love you mummy...

There is no doubt that the world of internet is full of gamers who have taken to playing online games where-ever and when-ever one has a few minutes to spare. Gone are the days when technology had offered a mere box of mini video games, because these days we have online 3d games being lounged almost daily and nobody needs to visit the video parlor anymore or spare a few bucks just to get a touch of their favorite games.

Have you heard of the newest MMO online game:aion? my son seems to be enjoying his time playing his favorite character which he had created himself, according to his personality and not only does he pass time all by himself by this newest gaming experience, his dad too, interacts online with him through this game. They both keep being occupied most of the time along with my daughter Alisha who entertains them with her dancing skills and am thankfully busily away from the computer cooking something special for them to eat after they have tired themselves to no end! I thought i could also try my gaming skills and customized and created a character called Nisha! wait until you see her.. ;)

All moms and parents can also strengthen their bonding and interaction with their kids through online games. You have the beginners guide there on the site and they also have aion classes for you to read in case you might just get confused. Go and register right now!
